Privacy Notice
This notice describes information handled when you use It's Five O'Clock Somewhere.
Information you provide
When you sign in, the service receives account identifiers and available profile details from your sign-in provider, such as your name and avatar. Your dossier may store a codename, preferred spirit, completed assignments, and special assignments you create. Community submissions contain the drink, location, instructions, briefing, visibility, and creator codename you provide.
Age gating and children
This service is age-restricted and not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal drinking age. The age-gate confirmation is stored locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us through the published project channel so we can delete it.
Location information
If you permit browser location access, your device uses it to determine your local timezone and assignment context. A location you type into a special assignment is stored as part of that assignment and may be public or accessible through its share link, depending on the visibility you choose.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate agents, personalize drink selections, save completion history, draw assignment maps, operate sharing features, prevent abuse, maintain security, and keep the service working.
Visibility and sharing
Public special assignments can be read and shared by anyone. Link-only assignments are not listed on the public board, but anyone with the link can access them. Shared completion-map links expose the assignment trail encoded in or retrieved through that shared experience. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information.
Service providers
The service relies on infrastructure and authentication providers to host the site, store data, and process sign-in. Those providers process information as needed to deliver their services. Google handles Google sign-in under Google's own privacy terms.
Storage and deletion
Profile and assignment records remain stored while needed to provide the service or until they are removed, subject to operational and legal needs. You can remove completion records and content where the interface offers that control. For other privacy or deletion requests, use the project's published contact channel when available.
Security and choices
Access controls restrict account records to the relevant signed-in agent, while content intentionally marked public is broadly readable. You can decline browser location access, avoid public posting, use link-only sharing, or use the catalog without creating an account.
Changes
This notice may be updated as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
