Daiquiri: Green Room

Santiago de Cuba, Cuba America/Havana

History

Named for a Cuban mining village, the drink was popularized around 1898 by American engineer Jennings Cox and later refined in Havana. This is a clearly labeled house field riff rather than a historical classic: Fresh basil supplies a peppery herbal lift without masking the original recipe.
