Aperol Spritz: Green Room
Venice, Italy Europe/Rome
History
The spritz began under Habsburg rule in northern Italy, when soldiers softened local wine with water. Aperol’s 1919 debut gave the ritual its sunset color. This is a clearly labeled house field riff rather than a historical classic: Fresh basil supplies a peppery herbal lift without masking the original recipe.
